Qualifications
The Building Design and Development Manager is responsible for the development of estimates for approved Building Programs. Include all funding required for design, permits, construction, etc. The position will be responsible for the development of work scopes, Site Planning, Schematic Designs and Utility needs to meet process and building requirements. The position will provide Civil, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering working with the Architectural/Engineering Design firms to develop construction documents for bidding purposes.
The position requires collaboration with other functions in Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate solutions and oversee site conditions during construction and installation phases. In addition, the positon will be responsible le for the administration of construction contracts and construction budget. Also, on-site project construction management for all phases of construction. Another aspect of the opening will be to work with state, county and local authorities to pull permits and manage issues that may arise for building, safety and environmental issues during the project timeline.
The position will assist in negotiating contracts with Governmental Affairs, as well as construction Labor Agreement with International Labor Union (NMA), Real Estate transactions, Easements, Licensing agreements, State and local Incentives and Environmental Permitting.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to construction
15+ years of manufacturing or construction experience
Outstanding presentation skills
Strong negotiation skills
Machine automation – design and/or launch technical experience
Ability to utilize World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles in process/machine design
Ability to think strategically, develop creative solution and create business case to implement
Ability to lead a cross functional team
Ability to analyze and translate technical data and into executive summary format
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, Product Standards, Design for Manufacturing
Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Knowledge of current FCA standards and specifications
