What’s a typical day as an Equipment Operator Foreman? You’ll be:

  • Complete daily tasks under supervisors direction often involving the following: tree & stump removal, sod replacement, landscape plantings, hardscape installation

  • Operate safely all necessary equipment that is used by reconstruction, such as loaders, skid loaders, chain saws, chipper, stumper, vac truck, etc.

  • Responsible for the safety, supervision, and training of fellow crew members. Instruction is achieved by familiarity with safety guidelines, equipment manuals, video tapes, hands-on training, and experience.

  • Start the crew on time, monitor lunch, and work until quitting time. This includes loading and the unloading of equipment, equipment trailering, and transportation of crews from site to site.

  • Responsible for the daily and weekly general maintenance of assigned reconstruction equipment. Assigned equipment and trucks will be kept neat and clean. Reporting of all equipment breakdowns or problems should be promptly routed to supervisor.

  • Foreman will be required to fill out all required paperwork (timesheets, equipment inspection, etc.) daily, including times and materials used for the day by him and crew.

  • Foreman must communicate on a daily basis with supervisor as to the status of their work.

  • Create work as needed to maximize total work hours to achieve the best possible productivity.

  • Substitute for absent foreman or on shorthanded crews whenever necessary

  • During winter operations, Foreman must be available for snow removal and/or salting and sidewalk snow removal operations 24 hours a day, unless prior arrangements have been made and approved by management

  • Must be willing to take on additional duties and/or miscellaneous tasks on an "as needed" basis at management's discretion

  • Foreman must be willing and able to work overtime as determined by management.

  • Filling out of all incident and accident reports as required. Proper personnel must be notified immediately if an incident or accident occurs.

  • During winter months, Foreman will be given other duties which may include, general trash pick up, pruning, painting, moving of office supplies or furniture, etc.

  • Have a Valid Drivers License - CDL Preferred

  • Experience with Heavy Equipment Operation
