Project work also entails other traditional geotechnical and civil analysis and design related to slope stability, seepage, earth retention, and foundations. Responsibilities include specifying and interpreting soil and rock investigations, including drilling and cone penetrometer testing; overseeing and processing field and in-laboratory material testing; installing instrumentation and analyzing monitoring data; and performing geotechnical numerical modeling. Project work also involves completing geotechnical and civil aspects of alternatives analyses and feasibility studies as well as preparing plans and specifications, reports, and cost estimates. In addition, client management, business development, staff mentoring and coaching, project management, project planning and scheduling, and workload estimating are part of this role. It requires periodic out-of-town assignments.
