About the Open Position
GHSP, a global technology organization, is currently looking for a Senior Cost Estimating Analyst to join our Headquarters team in Holland, Michigan.
*Purpose of the Job: *
Overall responsibility for cost and price development (policies, procedures, and systems) for new programs as a member of the Cost Estimating Team.Manages and drives improvement in key financial systems including product cost estimating, financial program tracking, and customer cost submission systems.Ensures product financial analyses meet company mandates and approval requirements.Represents the company at the customer in cost and price evaluations.
*Essential Responsibilities: *
Performs Cost Estimating Function.
Develops pre and post-production cost estimates/quotes for business as required, to meet customer timing.Provides oversight in quote process to ensure that quotes are reasonable in areas such as material, labor, tooling, product development cost, capital cost, etc.
Provides Analysis for Risk/Reward Decisions.
Takes lead in doing risk/reward calculations for issues such as make vs. buy and offshore sourcing for tooling and parts. Provides data, performs EVA calculations, and helps evaluate alternatives.
Stays Current on Latest Manufacturing Processes.
Maintains an awareness of current and evolving manufacturing processes to provide input for the optimum process to use when quoting a job. Stays current with practical production rates and reasonable overhead rates.
Works with the Business Unit and Sales Management in developing pricing and providing cost estimates for all customer product quotations.
Ensures that product financial evaluations meet established company financial mandates. Develops and manages the customer cost submission system that meets customer specific requirements. Works with the Product Lines in supporting customer required cost information at the customer.
Establishes and oversees financial program tracking systems.
Develops all necessary reporting to support these systems over life of program from RFQ to Post Completion review
Supports Special Projects.
Occasionally the position will be asked to assist in Corporate and Plant level activities. Among other requests, this can include assisting other team members or backing filling for open positions and extended absences.The capacity to learn and understand quickly, provide support and step in seamlessly is required for an individual holding this position.
