Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy and headquartered in Jackson, Michigan, provides natural gas and electricity to nearly 6.8 million of the Michigan's 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.Responsible for the engineering and design of gas termination pipelines, including the lowering of gas pipelines and relocations, emergency valve replacements, major pipeline construction, pipe segment replacements and relocations, and other compliance-driven pipeline projects. Perform pipeline design, material selection, scope document creation, submission of purchase and service requisitions, project outage procedures, emergency plan revisions, drawings review, and field technical support. Develop and contribute to engineering specifications. Perform pipeline engineering studies. Conduct project site walk-downs. Coordinate with internal and external contacts, including governmental agencies and other utility companies, to execute transmission pipeline projects. Provide project updates to corporate management and Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). Provide engineering, field, and technical expertise as needed. Help to develop the strategic plan for transmission pipeline asset relocation, and support other transmission pipeline engineering activities as needed.Worksite Location:2400 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI 48602Minimum Requirements:U.S. Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) from an ABET accredited university (or mutually recognized through ABET) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related occupation. The two (2) years of experience must include experience with gas utility operations; pipeline engineering; and analyzing and applying the following regulatory codes: ASME B31.8, 49 CFR 192, and Michigan gas safety standards.In the alternative, employer will accept a U.S. Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) from an ABET accredited university (or mutually recognized through ABET), in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field, and five (5) years of post- baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered or in a closely related occupation.
