GENERAL FUNCTION: Provides construction risk management for construction loans having a moderate to complex degree of difficulty. Daily duties include assisting in closing construction loans by reviewing all construction related documentation and reviewing and approving construction loan disbursements to insure projects financed remain on schedule and within the approved budget providing a high level of customer service and support, and completing special projects as requested.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with Portfolio Managers, Regional Credit Lead or Credit Officer, Team Leaders, and Relationship Managers in credit underwriting efforts through review of General Contractor agreements, Architect agreements, construction budgets and loan documentation to insure bank's construction policy and procedures are adhered.

  • Develops a working knowledge of all assigned customers and associated construction projects.

  • Assists loan closing managers with all construction related loan document preparation, including third party coordination, completion and review of Plan, Spec and Cost reports, as well as coordination of Bank Consultant's for monthly draw requests.

  • Supports Relationship Manager in monitoring on on-going basis information concerning the construction projects performance in accordance with scheduled completion and budget. Identifies out-of-balance situations and project issues that could impact the completion of project and escalate to Relationship Mangers and the appropriate Credit Partners.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for majors in accounting, finance or economics.

  • 3-5 years of construction credit analysis and construction loan administration and/or loan review experience, preferably in the banking industry, or an advanced business degree with 3+ years of business-related experience

  • Must be proficient in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications is a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills and teamwork exhibition

  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and multi-task

  • Comfortable in a limited client facing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like

  • Extended viewing of a CRT screen
